sacrilegei am a big fan of Hugh Halter’s work. the book he wrote with Matt Smay, The Tangible Kingdom, is one of my all-time favourites. now i have a new one to add to that list, SACRILEGE: FINDING LIFE IN THE UNORTHODOX WAYS OF JESUS. it’s a volume in the wonderful The Shapevine Missional Series.

this book is an adventure… an adventure to really discover and reflect upon what it means to be like Jesus.

it’s extremely well written. Halter is a fabulous storyteller. he cares about the Bible deeply. he’s concerned about discipleship, theology, people’s spiritual lives, and the Church.

SACRILEGE would make a great book for a small group or reading group. there are questions and short activities for reflection… “To Do,” “To Ask.”

it’s also a book for personal reflection and the pure joy of reading. Halter is an excellent communicator. his ideas and insights come through in the book wonderfully.

SACRILEGE is a great, great book. i highly recommend it.
