9780801015304 Fully Alive: A Biblical Vision of Gender That Frees Men and Women to Live Beyond Stereotypes was written by Dr. Larry Crabb, bestselling author of Finding God and Inside Out.

Crabb is a well-known psychologist, conference and seminar speaker, Bible teacher, author, and the founder and director of NewWay Ministries. for additional information, see http://www.newwayministries.org.

Fully Alive is joining the egalitarian/complimentarian debate/conversation that the Church has been having for years. both sides claim Biblical authority. so… it’s not the Bible… it’s the way we read and interpret the Bible.

i am egalitarian… and i believe the Bible is too.

Fully Alive is another contribution to this debate. Crabb is a good writer and writes from the perspective of a psychologist, so that’s an interesting spin to this debate.

it’s well worth reading. check it out.

_240_360_Book_876_cover from Richard Stearns, author of the bestselling The Hole In Our Gospel, comes his next book Unfinished.

if books had taglines, like movies, Unfinished would have two…

“Believing is only the beginning.”

“So you believe in God. Now what?”

Unfinished seeks to promote the proclamation and practice of the Kingdom of God. it seeks to wrestle with and answer challenging questions about our lives, careers, money, families, and purpose in life.

Stearns is an excellent storyteller and writer. he engages the Bible and the real world with passion and compassion, hoping that his readers and the Church will join in with God’s mission in the world today.

Unfinished is a challenging read. wonderfully written, it’s a thought-provoking book that will make you see and think about things differently. it may push you and make you uncomfortable, or it may affirm and confirm some things for you. it did all four for me.

_240_360_Book_874_cover INsourcing: Bringing Discipleship Back to the Local Church is an excellent book. written by Randy Pope, the founding and current pastor of Perimeter Church in Atlanta, it aims to strengthen discipleship in local churches.

Pope is wonderful storyteller and writer. he writes wonderfully and with the heart of a pastor. practical and relevant stories are told alongside Biblical insight and the importance of discipleship is highlighted.

INsourcing tells the story of what Perimeter calls “life-on-life missional discipleship.” this is an approach to discipleship that makes personal discipleship their number one aim. this is their goal.

discipleship and spiritual development is important; it’s vital. this is a great book that tells the story of how one church did it… and it gives resources and ideas and thoughts on how discipleship can be brought back to the forefront of the Church’s work in the world.

INsourcing is great. it’s a must read for pastors and Christians who care about discipleship.
